January Reading Wrap Up

ALL THE BOOKS I READ IN JANUARY

Unpopular opinion: this is one of my favorite times of the year. My reading life always feels very rich in the earliest days of the new year. This month I opted for a wide array of genres in an attempt to finally make a dent in the books sitting on my shelf.

THE WAR OF TWO QUEENS

Jennifer Armentrout
628 pages
5 stars

A tense and angsty fourth installment in the Blood and Ash series. This rich, high fantasy romance will have you binge reading and unable to get enough (I would know).  It has high stakes, a SPICY kick, and a magic system full of politics begging you for more! I absolutely recommend this series to any fans of Sarah J Maas.

FEVER 1793

Laurie Halse Anderson
252 pages
4 stars

I am not a huge middle grade reader, but I am trying to dip my toes in more often. This was heavier than I expected it to be. We follow young Mattie Cook in post Revolutionary War Era Philadelphia during the yellow fever outbreak of 1793. This story is full of fight and a fourteen year old’s fight for hope. Great for a middle schooler.

WE ARE THE BRENNANS

A RIVER ENCHANTED

THE LOVE SONGS OF W.E.B. DUBOIS

Honorée Fanonne Jeffers
Pgs 1-256

This book has taken about 200 pages for me to get into. I started it the beginning of this month and almost DNF'd intil Song 5. Definitely invested now!
